ÿþPLOVER FOLD BRANCH SOMETHING S WRONG Plover Fold is a big town on the southern edge of Faithful territory. Hot and dusty with lots of cowboy and Unbelievers. With the support of the Branch, the teens of the branch are sent into the world on "Run-Around" to decide for themselves if the Faith is right for them. PRIDE Young people aren't being kept to their gender roles, which is bad for them and bad for the community. INJUSTICE The Faithful are tempted away from observance and must be Shunned. SINS Worldliness: It s a sin to dress immodestly, to smoke tobacco or drink hard liquor, to use vulgar language, to sleep in the same room as an unbeliever, to gamble for money, to work on a day set aside for worship, or to show comfort in the presence of sin. The youngsters do all of this and more. Faithlessness: It s a sin to neglect the duties of your office in the Faith. DEMONIC ATTACKS Temptation, desire for worldly things like beer and dancing among the Faithful, as well as success and happiness among the Shunned. FALSE DOCTRINE YOUNGSTERS SHOULD CHOOSE THEIR PATH IN THE WORLD CORRUPT WORSHIP Prayer vigils for the wayward youngsters combined with dancing and illicit thrills. FALSE PRIESTHOOD Steward and his entire congregation SORCERY Demons are offering them a taste of what they missed as youngsters on their own "Run Around" WHAT DO THE TOWNSPEOPLE WANT FROM THE DOGS? Joseph Colby, Steward, wants the Dogs to make sure his daughter Lillian is safe and sound. He worries about her in town. Hope Colby, Steward's wife, wants the Dogs to leave her daughter alone - the Faith isn't for her, she was worldly at birth, and ought to make her own way. --- Newton Tombs, middle-aged man, wants the Dogs to bring all the children home. Malvina Tombs, new wife of Newton, just past "Run Around" age, wants the Dogs, who are worldly, to tell everyone about the world, and the good things in it. --- John Fisher, Outsider, wants the Dogs to bless his wife and put her at peace with her decision to leave the Faith. Patience Fisher, wife of John, daughter of Newton, shunned but loves the Faith, wants the Dogs to convert her husband and get the Steward to un-Shun her. --- Clementine Bennett, Shunned, successful photography studio owner, and hates the Faith, wants the Dogs to face their own self-righteous hypocrisy. She'll tear into them - they have no authority over her! Lillian Colby, Steward's daughter on "Run Around", wants the Dogs to abolish Shunning. She's never been happier and loves Doug. She wants it all - the Faithful community and the Unbeliever lifestyle. Doug Nancarrow, lad on "Run Around" and Lillian's beau, wants the Dogs to make him give up his worldly ways, to which he is addicted, and to make him right with the King. WHAT DO THE DEMONS WANT? To tempt the congregation into more and more worldliness, to corrupt them and debauch them until they abandon the Faith. WHAT DO THE DEMONS WANT THE DOGS TO DO? Make a big scene and make the youngsters eager to be shunned. WHAT WOULD HAPPEN IF THE DOGS DIDN T COME? Implosion, abandonment, a dead and empty Branch.
