Andrew Jeffrey Mcgruder is a former Harvard librarian and Army reserve officer. Before joining DET-66, he served as a "food safety officer" in Algeria, organizing partisans as one of American intelligence's "Twelve Disciples". He likes good scotch and coy women but detests rigid discipline. He is inventive, adventurous, and loves research. Participated in the destruction of the Temple of Thoth near Tobruk. After the disastrous Greenland raid on the nazi Eidelweiss base, Macgruder was abducted by vicious extradimensional aliens, who partially transformed him into one of their kind. He now has crude nippers and "wings" that allow him to alter dimensional space and sort of fly.
Mcgruder is now a member of DET66/SG, "Special Group", and provided close air support during operations in Sicily and Italy.
