Previously employed as a scribe of the Red Lake Elders Committee. Fluent in Navaho and Apache written and spoken dialects. Employed with U.S. Army Engineering Corps as secretary to Colonel Samuel T. Parrish.
Reason for referral to Detachment 66F: Personal letter written to her brother was intercepted on base and inspected. The unintelligible document was considered a security breach and was forwarded to U.S. Army Headquarters for inspection and decryption.
Kieyoomia was detained until decryption could be completed. No progress was made after 6 months. Kieyoomia was then transferred to Washington, D.C. for interrogation. Upon learning of her ethnic background (see above), the letter was translated by local Navaho representatives. Subject was released.
D66 became aware of subject's propensity for language assimilation during her confinement in D.C. Kieyoomia was recruited as a Descriptive Language Expert Jan 1, 1939. Kieyoomia learned German within 2 weeks of intensive language training. Subsequent training in Spanish and French was given, in addition to the usual field operative survival skills. She has served on several field missions, including "Operation: Smoking Mirror" in Central America. However the majority of her time is presently being spent on training other field agents in language skills and encrypting/decrypting sensitive documents for the agency.
