Steven Eldridge was a mountaineer who attempted Everest in the thirties and later fell in love with Manchuria (and a Manchurian woman). He got involved with American espionage and barely got his family out before the udon hit the fan. Later, he joined OP-20-G analyzing signals intelligence from China. He joined DET66 after helping Magruder's team defeat Japanese supernatural sabotage after Pearl Harbor. Eldridge was part of the Greenland team adbucted by extradimensional aliens. He was fitted with a strange mechanical eye, and his brain was entirely replaced by a metallic sphere.

Known as "Eyeball", Eldridge has had numerous adventures with DET66/SG.
