Jimmy was a simple fella who grew up in the Bronx to Scottish-American parents relocated from the South. A fairly simple soul, Jimmy had a broad imagination and little reasoning skill to reign him in. He was a fan of science fiction stories and comic books, such as Flash Gordon and the Phantom. Before DET66 found him, he was an assistant keeper in the NYC Zoo Monkey House. He became involved in agency affairs during the St. Patrick's Day parade attempt on General Eisenhower's life.

Jimmy's life changed while on a mission to the Peten rainforest in Guatemala. During an exploration of a Mayan temple, Jimmy claims to have been "abducted by aliens" who "probed him severely". Jimmy's mental capacities were radically altered during this encounter, and he now has the capacity to absorb immense amounts of sensory information. Possessing an eidetic memory and a keen ability to mimic the mannerisms and appearance of others, Jimmy has become a much more useful agent to DET66. His "Monkey see-monkey do" abilities were first put to the test in the "Hellcamp" operation in Oregon.
