AFTER-ACTION REPORT

"I did not just see that..."
--Lietuenant Rich Pearson

A DET-66 team was dispatched to Omboi island, between Jap-held New Britain and New Guinea, to investigate and stop a mysterious threat to navigation that had run two cargo ships and a submarine aground. Local Chief Boney had started a successful cargo cult that used powerful magic to attract ships and planes, including a nazi "Milch Kuh" cargo sub carrying uranium oxide and a helicopter to Japan. The Japanese wanted their U-235 back, and launched an assault on Opai village to recover it. The combined forces of DET-66 and local natives firing "spirit guns" and throwing coconut hand grenades (and bamboo MG-42's) drove them into the sea, but at a cost - the magic disspated as the natives were exposed to "reality".

Omboi island, interestingly, also boasts the world's largest colelction of living rhamphorhynchoid pterosaurs, which the natives know as grave-robbing "Ropen", or crocodile birds.
