AFTER-ACTION REPORT

"Zombies, Colonel! Zillions of 'em!"
--Sergeant Buck Loveless

A mixed squad of badly disoriented paratroopers from the 101st and 82nd divisions hooked up east of St. Mere Eglise in the dawn hours of June 6, 1944. Looking for a rally point, the squad encountered a nazi "Z-Gas" cannister that had cracked and spilled its contents. The gas returned numerous dead to life, and the squad found itself in an untenable situation. They allied with a Polish ost battalion and attempted to protect a hospital for crippled children from the zombie onslaught. Several died in the process, and the building was largely destroyed. The team was relieved by the headquarters company of Colonel Alex Spaulding, who arrived moments after the Z-gas wore off. Spaulding arrested the troopers, but they were later released to DET66.
