OFFICIAL REPORTMI5/20, DET-66 London Office Date: November 20, 1941 Agents in the field: CPt. Jonathan Percy Nesbit, Leon Nuzetti, Vashek Svoboda, Philip Campbell Mj. Henry Elsegood (TTC - TwenTy Committee- Adjunct) Summary:After the theft of one Motahim (description on file), I was assigned to put together a crack team to retrieve the relic and sterilize the area. The whearabouts of a certain Dr. Reverend Elisha Watson Gardner were then in question. The fiend is currently listed as deceased. The Motahim is currently entombed within a black lacquered crate (dimensions 3'x 3'x 2'). Following an incredible hunch, I lead the team directly to the township of Ipswich, whereupon we learned that not only had a gentleman fitting the description of the thief arrived a month earlier with the box in question, but a previously unsuccessful investigation had passed through the area.
After questioning the porters at the rail station, (declare: 15£ bribery) and a distasteful discussion between Elsegood and a Sgt. Merriweather (a local constable), we discovered that both men had stayed at the Flying Whore, a Pubilc House The barkeep of the Flying Horse was non too helpful in supplying us with information until we had sufficiently bribed him (declare: 20£ bribery) and purchased a bottle his most expensive liquor (lost en route, declare 2£). Following their leads, we called upon the dotty, old curator of a rare books collection where Rev. Gardner had studied, and identified his whereabouts through my skilled deduction and inference from fresh finger grease marks on the pages of a rare map. The late hour, We arrived in Woodbridge to the chagrin of an extremely rude conductor who appeared to fear the entire population of this backwater town. Svoboda's accent was causing difficulty for us among overly loyal citizens. Accounts of a person fitting Dr. Gardner's description identified him a stranger in town who had taken ill. We turned up at the office of Dr. Tobin M.D. Dr. Gardner had been released not 2 days prior. Unfortunately the sloth of certain members of my team had allowed the man to evade capture. Word from the Dr. Tobin sent us to a disused mill on the waterfront where Cambell identified the scent of our quarry. However, I identified large scrapings as if a heavy object similar to the Motahim were dragged from the mill towards the outskirts of town. The tracks lead to the Melton Grange Estate approximately 1 mile from town. Nuzetti appeared to recognize the estate, yet his headaches were an ever-increasing burden upon my ability to lead the team. In dealing with Nuzetti, I was distracted long enough so that we became flanked: an angry mod of townspeople had gathered behind us while about 8 children, heavily armed with farm implements. Nuzetti was able to convince the children that we were there to guard "The Box" so that we could retreat to the safety of the manor house. To our surprise, these "children" were heavily armed with silver tipped arrows. They had already dispatched their caretakers with butcher knives and had inserted silver butter knives into the wounds. My worst fears played themselves out, and we found ourselves set upon by 50 changelings. Nuzetti became nearly worthless with fear, and Svoboda began undermining my authority by suggesting that we attempt an escape with the Motahim in tow. I suggested that we fall back to a secure, defensive position. My comrades acquiesced just in time as the horrid The children lead us to a disused portion of the house where I rallied a group to barricade the hallway doors allowing the remainder of the team to set up out defenses near the Motahim. By the time I had arrived at the far end of the house, Svoboda had hefted the Motahim upon his shoulders and was heading down the servant's stairway. An enormous black wolf appeared at the base of the stairwell blocking our exit. A panic stricken Nuzetti fired a haphazard shot from his sidearm which struck poor Richard Donaldson, an orphan at the home, in the shoulder. The brave, wounded lad lunged forward striking at the heart of the beast, and pierced the jugular in its neck with a salad fork. Upon our exit from the building, a goon squad (cleanup crew) was present to re-catalog the Motahim relic. I assigned my team with the maintenance and debriefing of the orphans while Major Elsegood and I sanitized the site and initiated information containment procedures as directed by TTC. Our evacuation of the manor house identified the remains of the large black wolf as Dr. Gardner, no doubt a changeling who had infiltrated this organization. To destroy all evidence of these creatures I completed the incineration of the manor house and those changeling still inside. Exposed Children: Sean Drum, Aidan Drum, John "Jack" Coward, Millecent "Milly" Fevers, Richard "Ricky" Donaldson (see previous dossier), Frankie "The Stork" Nunzetti, Vincent Walker, Margaret "Maggie" Donnelly, William James Joyce Recommended Commendations:Richard Donaldson for bravery in the face of the enemy. |
