FROM: SGT. R. MATSUMOTO Thank you for the opportunity to serve with DET 66. As per the mission plan, I rendezvoused with CCP officer Cheung and Dr. Matthew Parker in Manchuria near the city of Harbin. Our unit successfully penetrated Kempei Tai security at Unit 731 and managed to get into the laboratory of the Shibou sub-unit. However, this is where things began to go horribly wrong. Kempei Tai officers became suspicious and a firefight ensued. We managed to gain control the laboratory room temporarily while CCP operative Zheng Po set charges. While investigating the experimentation rooms, some sort of creature was released. The Japanese army has apparently been conducting biological experiments on CCP prisoners in the attempt to create some sort of super-human. The resulting creature is insane, violent, possessed of some sort of mad blood lust, and hops rather than walks or runs. The Chinese named them Jiang Shr., which is roughly the word for Vampire - but this must be pure superstition. Our situation went from bad to worse as a squad of Kempei Tai reached us from a secret passage and engaged us once again. We managed to retreat to the laboratory room and fight our way into the elevator shaft climbing to freedom as Zheng Po's charges completely demolished the underground facility. Cheung had abandoned us (showing his true colors) after firing a signal flare to initiate a diversionary assault on the base designed to provide a distraction for our escape. Luckily, we were able to slip past security in the chaos and return safely to the CCP encampment. In my last two days reports were coming in from the countryside of more Jiang Shr attacks, but these were unverified. Thank you again and I would be happy to serve with DET 66 should the opportunity ever come again. Sincerely, |
