FROM: LT COL OLSEN, OSS/DET66 CC: LT NESBIT, MI5-20 Last year LT Manders led a team in the recovery of the so-called 'Polish Box', and in the process stirred up a nest of 'Neuri' - peasants claiming to be werewolves, living in the High Tatras. We have it on good authority that a number of these individuals were in fact forcibly deported to the Soviet Union, and may be among the 70,000 or so exiles and refugees now assembling in Buzuluk, USSR, for a trip to Persia at the behest of the British government. These men will form II Corps of the army of the Polish government-in-exile, under Lieutenant General Wladyslaw Anders , and fight the hun in the middle east, under British command. DET66-EAMETO has been tasked with finding any 'Neuri' that arrive in Tabriz, Persia and remanding them to the custody of DET66-SG handlers state-side. You'll leave Tangiers ASAP and have crash travel priority all the way to Tehran. You'll be met by Captain Boris Chiclowski, who is your British liaison officer despite his name and heritage. On a personal note, this comes directly from Donovan. Neither he nor I give a good God-damn whether these Polish mountain men are werewolves or not - if they have excellent field-craft, we can use them and you are to get them. Sincerely, LT COL James Olsen |
