RE: TDY, Effective Immediately

I've chosen the four of you to go to Greenland. You'll be heading to Narssasaq and air station Bluie West One via New York and Newfoundland, hitching a ride with an ETO-bound Eighth Air Force B-17. Once there, extend my compliments to Colonel Bernt Balchen, who is going to be flying the PBY that will take you to your destination.

We have received credible intelligence that the Nazis are conducting weather-control experiments out of their station, code-name EIDELWEISS, in east Greenland. Balchen believes he knows the location of Eidelweiss, and an assault on the facility has been authorized. You'll be along as both assault troops amd technical advisors with the task of collecting any "unusual" materiel or personnel of use to DET66. I've taken the liberty of including a series of references to the current situation and regional history for your edification. Colonel Balchen will provide a detailed briefing on local conditions, and you can draw equipment from Bluie West One.
