Butter, bread, cheese, beer, coffee.

I always like to know what people have for breakfast in foreign countries. Do you know what they have for breakfast in Denmark? Ham! and more ham. and some little cold sliced sausages. Delicious strong coffee always served in small cups rather than mugs. Rye, poppyseed and wheat buns. Also, cheese! Our cheap hotel had a thing where you turn a crank and out pops a slice of mild or strong cheese, your choice. Eat that with the ham. If you want, there's rugbrod, a dark heavy rye made with wheatberries. 1/2 of a slice is a good serving. It can stand up to a lot of cheese and ham. I liked to smother mine with butter and thick honey. And don't forget the pastries, muesli or pourable samoa flavor yogurt! Eat up, folks. It's cold outside.

PS-Sassy and I abandoned all pretense of kindness to animals in Denmark and ate ham, hot dogs, roast lamb and beef, along with our chicken and salmon. It was all tasty, I'm not even going to lie...

In the interest of full disclosure I should say that I, myself, have never pretended to be kind to animals and have eaten reindeer, whipped seal fat, 'mock goat', real goat, and quail eggs at one time or another. But we do generally tread lightly on the animal kingdom and this trip we definitely *did not*.

Also, A neglected to mention the Super Sugar Pops dispenser, which was popular with the kids at hotel breakfast.

I notice, Sassy, that you did not mention ever having eaten rotten shark meat. I suppose that's what brothers are for, right?

Autumn, that sounds like some crazy good breakfast, and I don't even eat ham! Last time I went to Europe I was afraid of my limited vegetarian options, but all that other stuff (bread, jam, cheese, coffee) filled in nicely.

Welcome back! Please excuse me whilst I wipe the moist corners of my mouth.

Now, I know y'all don't do the equatorial thing, but the breakfasts we had in Curacao were similar and, by far, the most notable part of our trip there a couple of years ago.

Speaking of animal products, did your new leather pants go with you?

That DOES sound really really tasty! I want some rye bread with wheatberries...mmmmmm...

No worries, guys...I'm not very kind to animals myself (I've eaten Guinea Pig in Peru) but sometimes animals are not too kind to stomachs...my poor hubby hadn't eaten beef for about a year and had himself some beef and veggie stirfry last week that put him to bed with stomach cramping! Does anyone know what I should feed him to make his stomach a hive of good bacterial food eatin' activity? He has pain issues with corn, tomatoes and now beef. Grrr....

No, sadly, my leather pants did not go to Denmark. They would've liked it there, tho! I'm taking them to the Jayhawks concert next Tuesday night.

Hmmm, Auntie... I dunno what to do to create a strong stomach. Yogurt??? I didn't have any issues with my belly this trip. My whole body was just like, OK! All bets are off! I give up!
